| work was very slow today. here is my desk in my office "the cave"
but! sean and i manned it up and built our own headset press to finally put my bike together.
you're supposed to use one of these:
to install it into the frame like this:
but it costs around $175 so i said "thanks but no thanks."
instead, we used something like this without any problems:
it cost about $5, yessss.
so the bike is kinda done:
it's really great! definitely a different beast from the brownie– faster, stiffer, and more responsive.
my old brake wasn't long enough though, so i've been riding brakeless which is not up my alley of self-preservation.
ordered some today so soon it'll be superawesome.
micah wrapped my bartape for me and i think she did a pretty skeet job.
though she insists it needs this tape to match the seat:

| someone stole a package from our house yesterday. it had the stem i need to put together my new bike.
the postman always puts the packages in our back porch behind the wall. i suppose someone was ballsy enough to see him deliver it, walk through our yard, and take the package.
talked to the postmaster and there isn't much i can do– i'm out $40 and can't put my bike together (though it looks like i couldn't have anyway because the bike shop is waiting on another part). we've asked the post office to hold all our packages. i wonder what a meth-head will do with this?
cats were being extra bad today. broke into the box of kitten food and found one half way inside it gorging herself. found another cat on the kitchen table. and another on my work table with stuff on the floor that it knocked off.
had to leave the house and get on bike to shake of grumpy pants, but found this before leaving:
